Design Guide for New Twitter Profile Image

You may have noticed that Twitter has a new design for its user profiles. But before you dash off update yours be warned that it crops about 60px from the top and bottom of your image. You can see new profile right here: twitter.com/mediaonmars
Twitter recommends that your image be 1500 x 500 pixels but be aware that the shaded area, like you see in the image below, will be cropped and not visible. So keep any important content out of this area. You can download our image template to use as a guide when your creating yours.
