From Paper to Digital

Working With Children Check
Making life simpler, saving time and money
The Working with Children Check (WWCC) is a comprehensive criminal record check for people in child-related work in Western Australia. Up until 2016 all WWCC checks and renewals were done by hand through Australia Post.
We worked in partnership with a large team at the Department of Child Protection (DCP), as well as external consultants, to create a new website and update the branding. We were the 'design consultants' for this project and we managed the branding, user experience, the wireframe development and the design for the project. The design was then passed to their in-house team as a series of accessible HTML templates.
Design for people.
Return on investment is not just financial
Only three weeks after launch in early 2016, the project team reported that they were making a saving of $3500 per day by receiving renewals online instead of on paper via Australia Post.
As a result they estimate their entire website investment will be returned within three months and people now have the ease of completing their WWCC applications and renewals from their lounge room. So far feedback on the new website is averaging 4.5 / 5 – a significant improvement from the old website!
