Beach not Bitumen
Beach not Bitumen was a community campaign to stop the MRA proposed road extensions through Bush Forever coastal dunes north and south of Scarborough Beach.
This project is another example of a successful community run campaign to stop road works through precious dunes and bushland. The Minister for Planning announced in May this year that the proposed road north and south of Scarborough Beach was to be scrapped and the funding was to be reinvested into alternative pedestrian and traffic improvements.
Beach to Bitumen came to Media on Mars because of our connections and work with the successful Re-think the Link campaign. We again worked with our intern pool – to create their branding and marketing collateral. This project is another great example of how strong branding and consistent messaging can have a dramatic impact on community run campaigns.
