TravelSmart – Walking School Bus
Studies show that fewer children are walking or biking to school. More children are at risk of becoming overweight and school car parks are becoming more congested.
The Walking School Bus program is one of the Department of Transport's TravelSmart initiatives designed to encourage children and families to walk to school.
A walking school bus can be as informal as two families taking turns to walk their children to school or as structured as a route with meeting points, a timetable and a regularly rotated schedule of trained volunteers.
The Walking School Bus videos are designed to inspire families to walk to school and show organisers how to implement a Walking School bus.
“We’ve had a very good experience working with the team from Media on Mars. They have created an extremely professional, creative, innovative, quality service, always delivered on time and on budget.”
